GM reveals details on Regal to dealers, sports model may be coming

Now that the Buick Regal is official, GM has been telling dealers details about the car.

It will be offered with a 2.4L direct injection inline-4 engine producing 180hp and a 2.0L turbocharged and direct injected engine with about 220hp. The most interesting bit of the details GM has been telling dealers is that they say there will eventually be a sport version. It is rumoured to be called the GS model. Reportedly, it will feature the 3.6L direct injected V6 out of the LaCrosse/Allure, which puts out 280hp. It will also come with 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes and optional AWD. It may also be offered with a six-speed manual. It should be based on the European Opel/Vauxhall Insignia OPC/VXR. If that’s anything to go by, this should be pretty good.
